Clear the Shelters 2019 Was a Success!

Animal Shelters all over america were buzzing with adoptions last Saturday as they celebrated "Clear The Shelter Day" .  1000's of dogs, cats, pigs, bunnies, birds, reptiles and all other critters needing a furever home were adopted.  

Clear the Shelters

Started in 2015, Clear the Shelters was started by NBC and Telemundo television stations.  Their goal was to help potential pet owners find a shelter near them and "clear the shelters"  This has turned into a yearly nationwide animal adoption initiative.  According to the Clear the Shelters website, the movement has helped more than a quarter of a million pets find new homes.

Adoption Success

Over 1,200 adoption centers participated in this years 2019 Clear the Shelter Event.  From Seattle to South Beach, 1000's of rescue animals are now sleeping in a home and not a cage.  

Placer County, CA -  The local SPCA adopted out dogs, cats, roosters, and even some guinea pigs.

North Haven, CT - Their local shelter cleared out all of their animals needing homes.   Thank you Animal Control Officers Dave Carney and Chrystal Radha!

South Florida Shelters -  More than 450 more were adopted Saturday. And more than 900 animals were adopted in South Florida in the days leading up to Saturday's big event. 

Dallas/Fort Worth, TX - Over 100 animals found forever homes during their Clear the Shelter events.

Las Vegas, NV - In Las Vegas and surrounding areas, more than 400 animals found new homes.

We want to thank everyone that added a new member to their family this week!  Animals can bring much joy and happiness.  And remember, you do not have to wait for the next "Clear the Shelter" event.  There are always animals in a shelter near you looking for someone to love them.
